Martin J. Martin Jay “Marty” Canfield, 59, of Iola, Kansas, died Monday, November 2, 2015, at the Allen County Regional Hospital. Marty was born July 22, 1956, in Independence, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Navy for 11 years, and following his time in the service, he traveled working at nuclear power plants before becoming a field service engineer for Boiler Controls. Emergency personnel are responding to a 28-foot lobster boat ablaze near Ipswich, Mass., Friday, the U.S. Coast Guard reported. German shipping company Wessels Reederei has signed a contract with MAN Diesel & Turbo at the Europort exhibition for maritime technology to retrofit the 8L48/60B main engine of its 1,000-teu containership Wes Amelie to dual-fuel operation, marking the first contract worldwide for a vessel of its kind to be converted to an LNG-capable propulsion system. Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, today announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has agreed to extend the present time charter contract with RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, Essen, Germany, for one of its Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Maia, for a period of minimum 17 months to maximum 20 months. The gross charter rate is $7,500 per day, minus a five percent commission paid to third parties.
