Monopiles Terminal to Be Built in Rotterdam
Sif Group, Verbrugge International and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have signed an agreement in principle for the construction of a production and storage/handling terminal in Rotterdam. Sif Group and Verbrugge are planning to set up a joint venture to bring the storage and logistics of the foundations, so-called monopiles, under one roof. At the terminal, which covers around 42 hectares, Sif Group will produce steel foundations for offshore wind farms and the oil and gas industry.

Kjeld Dittmann, the Managing Director of Lyngsø Marine A/S, is the new Chairman of the European Ships and Maritime Equipment Association (SEA Europe). Coast Guard Monitoring Rocket Debris off US
The U.S. Coast Guard informs it is working with SpaceX and partner agencies to monitor the debris field of the exploded Falcon 9 rocket in the Atlantic Ocean more than 150 miles off the Florida-Georgia coast. Ki-tack Lim Elected as IMO Secretary General
Ki-tack Lim from the Republic of Korea has been elected as the new Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), with effect from January 1, 2016, for an initial term of four years, the IMO announced. The current president of Busan Port Authority, Lim has served as the Republic of Koreaâs Deputy Permanent Representative to IMO from 2006 to 2009 and was Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Flag State Implementation (FSI) from 2002 to 2004.
