NewLead Announces Time Charter Contract
NewLead Holdings Ltd. has entered into a time charter contract with for one of its recently delivered bitumen tanker vessels, the Ioli, for a minimum of one year. The vessel has already been delivered to the charterer that has the option to extend the time charter contract for up to four additional one year periods. The Ioli is a 2009-built bitumen tanker vessel of 3,396 dwt and is one of the five bitumen tanker vessels that were recently delivered to NewLead's fleet.

Four New Tugs for the Port of Alexandria
The Alexandria Port Authority has placed an order for four new Voith Water Tractors (VWT) to be built at different shipyards in Egypt. Two tugs with an engine power of 2 x 1,920 kW each will be propelled by two Voith Schneider Propellers VSP 28R5/210-2. They will achieve a Bollard Pull of at least 55 tons. The other two with a power of 2 x 1,370 kW each are to be equipped with two VSP 26R5/195-2 for a Bollard Pull of at least 40 tons.

Maersk Line to Increase Asia-Europe Rates
Shipping company Maersk Line, owned by A.P. Battery-powered Ferry Enters Service in Norway
The world’s first electrical car and passenger ferry powered by batteries has entered service in Norway, representing a milestone on the road to operating emission-free ferries along Norway’s coastline, with at least 50 other routes currently able to sustain battery-operated vessels. The Norled ferry uses just 150 kWh per route, which corresponds to three days use of electricity in a standard Norwegian household.
April Ice Weighs on US-flag Lakes Cargo

Indian prime minister Narendra Modi visited Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), seeking increased partnership between the India’s shipbuilding industry and HHI.
