Gondan to Build Spanish Patrol Boats
Gondan Shipyard has recently signed a contract with the Guardia Civil, Spain’s Civil Guard, for the building of two patrol boats. The aluminum and fiber (PRFV ) vessels will measure 20.5 meters in length and 5 meters in breadth and will be built at Gondan Shipyard’s facilities in Vegadeo. Delivery is scheduled for Summer 2015. Marseilles Fos Reports Mixed First Half
First-half container traffic at leading French port Marseilles Fos totalled 583,287 teu – up 7% on the first six months last year - marked by a 10% increase at the deepsea Fos terminals. Dry bulk and cruise passenger volumes also rose significantly, the port announced today, but total cargo throughput fell 6% to 38.23 million metric tons as oil trades continued to decline in line with market trends. The container performance drove a 2% rise in general cargo to 8.88MT.

Cummins Reports Revenue Jump in Q2 2014
Cummins Inc. reported its results for the second quarter of 2014. According to the report, second quarter revenue of $4.8 billion increased 7 percent from the same quarter in 2013. The increase year-over-year was driven by stronger demand in on-highway markets and distributor acquisitions in North America. Revenues in North America increased 14 percent while international sales decreased 1 percent compared to the second quarter a year ago.

Valemon Topsides Installed
On Monday, July 28, the topsides were lifted into place on the steel jacket on the Valemon field in the North Sea. Produced by Samsung Heavy Industries this is the first Statoil topsides built in South Korea.
