Triton Submarines (Triton) announced that it will introduce its newest model, the Triton 1000/3 LP (Low Profile) at the 2014 Monaco Yacht show September 24-27. Triton’s model line now includes eleven models configured for two to eight passengers with depth ratings from 1,000 feet (305 meters) to 5,500 feet (1,675 meters) as well as the full ocean depth rated Triton 36000/3.

DBR Generatorsets is on course to complete construction of a gas engine driven generator set for GDF SUEZ E&P Nederland B.V. in time for installation on the E17a-A platform at the end of the year. Due to space restrictions on the existing platform, DBR is fabricating a custom engineered generator set. “We are using a modified design to deal with the lack of space on the platform,” said DBR Sales Manager Henri Hafkamp.

Sally Ride is a U.S. Navy Office of Naval Research sponsored Auxiliary General Oceanographic Research Vessel (AGOR-28). The vessel’s advanced deck machinery will be operated by Scripps Institution of Oceanography personnel during extended scientific missions upon the seven seas.

OceanSaver Reports Surge in BWT Orders
OceanSaver said it has received a rush of ballast water treatment (BWT) system orders for large vessels. The Norwegian firm, a BWT specialist developing solutions since 2003, has won orders for more than 40 systems in the last six months, with some 21 units delivered so far this year. The latest contracts, worth approximately $30 million, cover a diverse range of large tonnage, from a number of key international markets, with VLCCs, Aframax tankers, product tankers and Cape Size bulk carriers.
