Evergreen Line Makes Maiden Call to Boston
Evergreen Line’s ItalLunare celebrated its maiden call to the Port of Boston with an official first call and plaque presentation on Wednesday, the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) announced. This is the first time Evergreen Line has called Boston directly in nearly 30 years. “The ItalLunare was bringing more than just cargo when she arrived at Conley Terminal this week,” said Massport CEO Thomas P. Glynn.
Injured Crewman Medevaced from S.Korean Icebreaker
A U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter medevaced a crewmember suffering from a head injury from the South Korean research icebreaker Araon 250 miles north of Barrow, Wednesday. The helicopter crew, forward deployed to Barrow in anticipation of the forward operating location opening on Thursday, safely hoisted the 43-year-old male from the Araon and transported him to emergency medical personnel in Barrow.

Ecuador Coastguard Orders Damen Patrol Boats
Damen announced it has recently signed a contract with AstillerosNavalesEcuatorianos (Astinave) to construct two Damen Stan Patrols (Spa) 5009 for the Ecuadorian Coastguard. The Ecuadorian shipyard will build both vessels locally with Damen Technical Cooperation, which is Damen’s method of ‘building on site’. Damen Technical Cooperation (DTC) will supply Astinave with prefabricated kits to build both vessels.
