EU Antitrust Regulators Will Not Probe Maersk Alliance
European Union antitrust regulators have not found any anti-competitive impact relating to an alliance of world No. 1 container shipping company AP Moller-Maersk with two of its peers, the European Commission said on Tuesday. "At this stage, the Commission does not intend to open proceedings in relation to P3 or G6," said Antoine Colombani, Commission spokesman for competition policy, referring to two shipping alliances, one of which was formed by Maersk.
Brennan Expands Inventory Capabilities in Canada
New facility and positive customer response spur inventory growth in hydraulic and instrumentation product lines. Thoma-Sea Launches Two TAI Designed Ships
Technology Associates, Inc. (TAI) of New Orleans, La., announced that two derivatives of vessels built from TAI’s EnviroMax designs were both launched this week. Another EnviroMax OSV built from its design was also delivered a week earlier. Thoma-Sea Shipbuilders, has launched the Regulus, a DP 2, FiFi I Offshore Supply Vessel from its Houma, La. shipyard on May 27. The 272' OSV was built to service deep water oil and gas exploration.

CMA CGM Reducing Fleet CO2 Emissions
The CMA CGM Group confirms its objective to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% by the end of 2015 (compared to 2005). On the occasion of the June 5 World Environment Day, the CMA CGM Group, the world’s third largest container shipping company and number one in France, confirmed its objective set at 50% reduction CO2/teu-km between 2005 and 2015. In 2013, the global operated fleet CO2 performance has been improved by 4%, and even 8% for the owned fleet, thus a 40% reduction achieved since 2005.
DBR Generatorsets Wins Large Repeat Order
DBR will supply emergency/harbor diesel generator sets for six new pipelaying vessels under construction at IHC Merwede in the Netherlands for Subsea 7 and SapuraKencana. The order for the custom engineered units, generating up to 1,875 kVA, follows DBR’s successful delivery of three similar generator sets for IHC Merwede in 2013. For each of the six new generator sets, DBR selected Mitsubishi diesel engines and either 800 kVA Leroy Somer or 1,875 kVA AvK generators.

British Shipbuilder Lands Thames Barge Contract
