Fincantieri to List Stake Close to 50%
Italian state-owned Fincantieri plans to list a stake close to 50 percent in its initial public offering on the Milan bourse, a source close to matter said on Tuesday. The group, wholly owned by state lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), which in turn is controlled by Italy's Treasury, announced earlier on Tuesday it has filed for listing. The sale of a minority stake in the group is part of a privatisation push the Italian government launched last year to raise funds to cut its public debt.
NOAA Offers a New Way to See Currents
A new NOAA National Ocean Service website will provide mariners near real-time coastal ocean surface current observations and tidal current predictions in coastal waters using high frequency (HF) radar, making marine navigation safer for mariners and commercial shippers. The web-based observations are now available for the Chesapeake and San Francisco Bays in areas vital for marine navigation, with additional locations to follow.

Italy's Fincantieri said on Tuesday it had filed a request to list its shares on the Milan bourse, as state lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) moves to offer private investors a minority stake in the ship building company. The disposal of Fincantieri - wholly owned by CDP, which in turn is controlled by Italy's treasury - is part of a new wave of privatisations the Rome government announced at the end of last year.
