DOF Subsea, Seaway Extend Contract
DOF Subsea, provider of integrated subsea solutions, has been awarded a Master Service Agreement (MSA) extension with Seaway Heavy Lifting for the provision of positioning services onboard its Stanislav Yudin and Oleg Strashnov crane vessels. DOF Subsea offers services to third parties across the globe through its survey and positioning division. The contract with Seaway Heavy Lifting was announced in January 2014 and has been extended for a further two years plus options.

LNG Market Not Impacted by Changed Crimea Status: Analysis
While a threat of a cut in gas supplies could emerge from Russia, Ukraine, or the E.U., the reality is that the commercial situation could use a little less gas in the market and that goes for Europe and Asia. From an LNG perspective, if you are going to have a supply crisis, the second quarter is probably the best time of the year to have it, as Asian gas demand drops to seasonal lows and Europe is showing record amounts of length in its own balances.
China Shipyard Delivers Capesize Bulk Carrier
COSCO Corporation (Singapore) informs that its COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard subsidiary has delivered the 82,000 dwt bulk carrier "UNION VOYAGER", to its European buyer. The new ship measures 229 meters in LOA, 32.26 meters in breadth and is 20.25 meters in depth. Founded in June 2001, COSCO Shipyard Group Co., Ltd, is a subsidiary of China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO). It specializes in large vessel construction, marine engineering, conversion, and ship repair services.
Dubai Water Canal Project Contract for Parsons-Halcrow JV
The Parsons/Halcrow Joint Venture (JV) informs it has been selected by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for the construction supervision of the Dubai Water Canal Project. Revenues of Zim, Israel Corp's shipping unit, dropped 7 percent as overall freight rates declined by 9 percent in 2013 and its loss rose from US$ 433-million in 2012 to US$535-million in 2013, according to Xinhua. Container ship operators Zim Line, which holds 2 percent of the international shipping market, is in the middle of financial restructuring.
