Drydocks World Signs Agreement with NSC Holding
Drydocks World, an international service provider to the maritime oil, gas and energy sector, signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement with German company NSC Holding, a ship management company located in Hamburg, Germany, managing 56 vessels. The agreement was signed by Eng. Ali AlSuwaidi, VP – Business Development & Commercial, Drydocks World and Mr. Heiko Meyer - Managing Director of NSC Schifffahrtsgesellschaft mbH & Cie. KG.
Fairmount Tugs Assist FPSO OSX3 Installation
Fairmount Marine’s tugs Fairmount Glacier and Fairmount Expedition have assisted in the installation of FPSO OSX3 in the Tubarão Martelo oilfield offshore Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Both Fairmount tugs were part of a five unit strong fleet of tugs contracted to hook-up the OSX3 to her anchors. Fairmount Marine was contracted by Boskalis Offshore for the offshore support for the positioning of OSX3 during the hook-up operation.
Lakes Limestone Trade Up More Than 6% in September
Shipments of limestone on the Great Lakes totaled 3.5 million tons in September, an increase of 6.2% compared to a year ago. The September total was, however, 4.9% below August’s tally. Shipments from U.S. ports totaled 3 million tons, an increase of 8.1% compared to a year ago. Loadings at Canadian quarries – 467,000 tons – dipped by the equivalent of one cargo in a 767-foot-long laker. Year-to-date the Lakes limestone trade stands at 19.9 million tons…

Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam (NL), part of Damen Shipyards Group, has been contracted again by Rederij Groen (NL) after delivering two chasers, the Aquarius-G and the Astra-G, earlier this year. Dura Poly Delivers Plastic Barge
Dura Poly Boats delivered a 100% plastic Power House 820 workboat to Seaboard Marine Dockbuilders in Oceanside, New York. The vessel is an 8- by 20-foot, 100% plastic hull and wheel house, push knees, crane, nonskid deck, motor guard and custom bumpers with sign routed in them.
