IHC Merwede named and launched the pipelaying vessel Sapura Diamante in a ceremony at the company’s shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, The Netherlands. MHI & Vestas Join Hands in Offshore Wind Turbine Business
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has agreed with Vestas Wind Systems A/S (Vestas), a leading manufacturer of wind power generation systems based in Denmark, to establish a new joint-venture company (J/V). Plans call for the arrangement to be in place before the end of March 2014. The new J/V will be launched taking over and consolidating MHI's and Vestas' current operations in offshore wind turbines.

Towed RoRo Too Tall, Hits Florida River Bridge
The U.S. Coast Guard has closed a portion of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Fla., after the 'USNS 1st Lt. Harry L. The RoRo vessel was being towed from its home pier in Jacksonville to the North Florida Ship Yard for normal dock and maintenance work. There were no injuries reported. Boatcrews from Coast Guard Station Mayport and other law enforcement agencies are currently enforcing a 200-yard safety zone on both sides of the bridge.
