In the New York office, John Walker will be joining Braemar SA as Chief Surveyor, P&I and Legal Services Manager for the Americas, bringing with him experience in marine consultancy at a senior level. Also new to the New York office is Luca Bruga, a naval architect, who will be joining as a Staff Surveyor.
Damen to Build Robert Allan Designed Rotor Tugs
Two new ART 80-32class Rotor tugs, the first vessels designed for KST B.V. under the recent agreement naming Robert Allan Ltd. as the exclusive designer of Rotor tugs, are to be built by the Damen Shipyards group for owners Elizabeth Ltd. This is the first time that the Damen Group will build a design from Robert Allan Ltd. Kotug has provided significant input into the requirements for this design, and Robert Allan Ltd., has developed a unique, customized design optimized for their operations.

Big Navy Refit Job Begins in San Diego
The Navy's amphibious assault ship 'USS Essex' is dry docked at General Dynamics NASSCO for at least $150 million in repairs and upgrades. USS Essex, which displaces more than 40,000 tons when loaded for combat, is the biggest Navy ship that can fit into dry dock at NASSCO, the last major shipbuilder on the West Coast, reports U-T San Diego.
