BAE Systems to Build More Jackson Offshore PSV's
BAE Systems’ shipyard in Florida to build two additional platform supply vessels (PSV's) for Jackson Offshore Operators under a contract option. The new vessels, which will service offshore drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico, reflect BAE Systems’ continued growth in U.S. commercial shipbuilding and its support to the oil and gas industry. Each of the Jackson Offshore Operators vessels will be qualified under the U.S. Jones Act and will measure 252 feet long and 60 feet wide.

 by the shipbuilders. In addition, the company reached an agreement regarding the postponement of payments due in 2013 for other orders. The agreements relieve the company from Off-balance sheet obligations amounting to $1.4 billion. Puerto Rico Towing Assists 'Run Out of Gas' Ship
Tugs 'Triton' and 'Honcho' of the Puerto Rico Towing & Barge Co. recently assisted a drifting vessel off the coast of Puerto Rico. The cargo ship Global Destiny, owned and operated by Diavlos Maritime based in Athen, Greece, called for assistance the morning of Saturday, March 16. The vessel reported that it had run out of fuel and was drifting approximately five miles off the coast of Dorado, approximately nine miles north west of San Juan. Puerto Rico.
