KPI Bridge Oil, a global broker and trader in marine bunkers, marine lubricants and risk management products, has appointed Mr. Araki Takanobu as Senior Bunker Trader. Araki Takanobu has more than 13 years experience in various bunker and cargo trading roles and has previously been working in Japan, Korea and Singapore. Arakialso has a degree from Meiji University in Political Science. Araki Takanobu is Japanese, speaks fluent Korean and is currently living in Singapore.
Two New Si-Tex Navigation Systems
Si-Tex Marine Electronics has added two multifunction navigation systems to its product lineup, providing a wide range of recreational and light commercial vessels with a navigation solution. Both the 7” display SNS-700 and 10.4” display SNS-1100 provide boaters with C-Map Max charting capabilities like programmable anti-grounding, flashing navaids and aerial imagery, along with dual-frequency fishfinding and color radar (when matched with optional Si-Tex MDS-1, MDS-8 or MDS-9 radar scanners).

ClassNK Approves Minimal Ballast Water VLCC Design
Leading classification society ClassNK announced that it has granted AIP (Approval in Principle) to the MIBS (Minimal Ballast Water Ship) VLCC design developed by Namura Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in cooperation with the Shipbuilding Research Centre of Japan. Although the IMO’s Ballast Water Management Convention has yet to enter into force, installation of ballast water treatment systems are already presenting owners with both financial and technical challenges.

PACC Offshore Services Holdings (POSH), through its EPIC division, has announced the formation of a joint venture company POSH Terasea Pte Ltd with Terasea Pte Ltd (Terasea).
