Survey: UK Subsea Companies Set for Bumper 2013
Subsea companies across the UK are set to grow by 20% or more in 2013, with some companies anticipating more than 50% growth. A survey of Subsea UK members revealed that 100% of firms are predicting significant growth in the next 12 months. Almost half expect to grow by 30% and a third by more than 50%. Almost 90% of those surveyed saw turnover and profits rise in 2012 with over half reporting growth of 20% and a fifth reporting more than 50% growth.

Vietnam Shipyard Delivers Farstad PSV
Vung Tau Shipyard in Vietnam delivers Platform Support Vessel (PSV) to Farstad Shipping Singapore subsidiary. Far Sitella, a STX PSV08 CD offshore vessel, is bound for Australia where it will commence its long term commitment to Shell Australia related to their Prelude drilling campaign. A long-term facility has been drawn with Nordea Bank to finance the vessel. Farstad Shipping's fleet currently consists of 57 vessels (28 AHTS, 26 PSV and 3 SUBSEA) and 3 PSV and 4 AHTS under construction.
UK Aircraft Carrier Forward Island Module to be Shipped
The BAE Systems built Forward Island for 'HMS Queen Elizabeth' to transit by barge for mounting in Rosyth shipyard. The iconic Forward Island, known as Upper Block 07, is the hub of the ship as it contains the main bridge and approximately 100 vital mission systems compartments. Weighing 680 tonnes, this is the first block to depart with her final paint colours applied, all windows fitted and consoles installed, along with 43km of cables and 3,101 pipes.
