DSME, Aker Solutions, Win Huge North Sea Contract

Statoil with Total & Det Norske contract DSME to build the topsides for the Dagny platform, with Aker Solutions as a major sub-contractor. The total contract value is estimated to be NOK 6.1 billion and comprises detailed design, procurement, engineering services, construction, hook-up and commissioning. The assignment will begin immediately and will be completed in the first quarter of 2017.

Suez Canal Authority Chairman, Amiral Mohab Mamish, stated that Suez Canal pilots and salvage teams supported by tugboats succeeded in refloating the Korean tanker Volga, 82,000 tons that grounded in the main channel at Km. 42 and blocked the Canal at 05:15 pm on 14, February 2013.
