After RWO’s CleanBallast system was considered as the first choice by Canadian shipowner Seaspan, the Bremen-based marine water treatment expert is proud to announce further contracts for its ballast water treatment system for Belgian and Canadian shipowners. 'Task Force Tubbataha' is working closely with the US Navy & a Singapore salvage company to plan the wreck's removal. In a statement issued by the Philippine Coastguard, Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Aguinaldo Abaya explained that part of the salvage plan is to use a crane with high lifting capacity for the vertical removal of the stranded ship instead of just dragging it to avoid incurring more damage to the reef.

MAN B&W Engines in Two New Capesizes EEDI Compliant
Centrans (Tianjing) Ocean Shipping has received EEDI compliance certificates for two 180,000 dwt newbuildings. The company reports this as being a first in the global Capesize bulk carrier segment. The two ships are each powered by a single MAN B&W 6S70MC-C8.2 low-speed engines built by Dalian Marine Diesel, and the vessels were built at QingDao Beihai Shipyard in Eastern China. The vessels received their EEDI compliance certificates from Lloyds Register in late 2012.
Aker to Effect Offshore EPCIC Tie-in
The contract involves further modification work on Sleipner A under the Sleipner Modification Portfolio Agreement. In detail, this contract is for engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) to tie the gas production from the Dagny platform into Sleipner A. The Sleipner Modification Portfolio Agreement was awarded to Aker Solutions in August 2010 and the company is currently working on the first call-off project named Gudrun tie-in to Sleipner.
