Panama Canal Expansion Moves Forward
The Panama Canal Expansion is moving forward to reach its goal of bolstering the waterway’s capacity in order to provide a better service. To date, the program is 50% complete. “The program continues to progress and reach milestones while we focus the next phases on building the locks,” said Panama Canal Administrator Jorge L. Quijano. Beginning 2013, the Expansion Program has completed several projects. Dredging of the navigational channels has been completed.

GAC Pindar Deliver Large US-built Motorboat to NZ
GAC Pindar in J/V with global freight forwarder TNL International, deliver a 7.6 mt Stamas boat from Georgia USA to Aukland, New Zealand. The privately owned motorboat, which is 3.93 metres high and 12.58 metres long overall, was handled with care for its 15,000km voyage. Before being loaded onto a ship bound for Auckland at Savannah, Georgia, it was shrink-wrapped and cradled on a special mafi trailer.
Vroon Orders New SSV
The subsea support vessel (SSV), to be named 'VOS Sugar, is to be built in China at the Fujian Southeast Shipyard. The contract contains the option for a second vessel, and follows on from the two SSVs built at the Shipyard in 2012 for Vroon Offshore Services (VOS Shine and VOS Sweet). The new vessel, VOS Sugar, is a modern SSV with retractable thruster and super‑silent tunnel thruster, providing a high standard of comfort for both passengers and crew.
