SMARTBLUE Container for offshore asset safety launched by Raytheon Anschütz, headquartered in Germany. A containerized version of the company's SMARTBLUE surveillance system was shown in Galveston, Texas, at an on-site demonstration. The innovative container solution is a customizable and ready-to-deploy surveillance system complete with Radar, AIS and a long-range surveillance camera on a buy or rental basis for offshore asset protection.

Konecranes to deliver 12 more Automated Stacking Cranes (ASCs) to the container terminal at Khalifa Port, Abu Dhabi. Following upon the successful delivery of a complete automated container yard system including 30 Automated Stacking Cranes (ASCs) to the new Khalifa Port, Konecranes will deliver a further 12 ASCs to the port, which officially started commercial operations on 1 September 2012. Container Ship Propellor Damage Fixed by FN Diving

Heavy shaft vibrations led a container shlp owner to call in FN Diving in Rotterdam for underwater repair of the propellor. The inspection of the propeller revealed a deformation on one of the blade tips due to impact damage, the blade was found bent up to a 70 degree angle towards pressure side, while the tip of the next blade was broken off. In cooperation with the Propeller manufacturer, FN Diving determined an in situ repair plan.

The 1000th Liebherr Mobile Harbour Crane has been delivered and erected at Montoir Bulk Terminal (MBT) France. The new LPS 550 is going to play a major role in MBT’s cargo handling chain in order to optimize bulk transport. Their new crane, type LPS 550, has a maximum lifting capacity of 75 tonnes in grab operation. It is the first LPS 550 worldwide. The crane was manufactured and pretested in Rostock before its delivery to the west coast of France.
