One-month contract extension by BP Norge AS for 'Safe Scandinavia' at Valhall Field in North Sea. BP Norge AS has exercised the first of two remaining one-month options, thereby extending Safe Scandinavia’s operations at Valhall until 30th November 2012. The value of the exercised option is approximately US$ 9-million. Safe Scandinavia is owned by Prosafe, a leading owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation/service rigs.
Eco-friendly Fish Wellboat to be Built by Havyard

Herøy-based shipping company orders a specialised live fish transport vessel from Havyard Ship Technology's yard in Leirvik, Norway. Delivery of the first ship is due in January 2014 with the option for delivery of a similar ship six months later. Each wellboat has an estimated value of NOK 250 million. The Havyard 587 design has three large cylinder tanks for live fish with a capacity of 3250 cubic. The wellboat is nearly 85 metres long and has accommodation for 12 persons.

Offshore Atlantic Contract Completed by Ocean Installer

Norway's Ocean Installer company employed its CSV 'Normand Clipper' to complete deep-water contract in N. Atlantic. The contract was for part of the development of the Corrib gas field and it required the survey of a 20-inch, 83km long offshore pipeline and the relocation of about 250 boulders, clearing a 12-metre wide corridor in an umbilical lay route. The work commenced in early August and was successfully completed using the highly efficient construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Clipper.
Vroon Offshore Embarks on 10-Vessel New-Build Program

North Sea Emergency Recovery & Rescue Vessel (ERRV) operator Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) to invest $100-million in new ships. The new "comfort class" boats - six 50m ERRVs and four 60 ERRV field support vessels - will be built in Nanjing and Fujian in China under Vroon's supervision and support a new wave-piercing bow-shape designed in Singapore by the group. The first of the ERRVs is due to be delivered in April 2013 with the first of the 60m boats due to arrive in Q1 2014.

Incat Crowther contracted to design a 32m catamaran ferry for Ishigaki Dream Tours. Super Dream will be built by Richardson Devine Marine and will be the second Incat Crowther/RDM vessel for the operator, after 2008’s Premium Dream. Super Dream will be powered by a pair of Caterpillar C32 ACERT main engines, which will drive a pair of NICO island-mounted gearboxes. Propulsion will be by 5-bladed fixed-pitch propellers.
