Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has begun developing "UEC-LSGi," low-speed, dual-fuel, marine diesel engines capable of using not only conventional heavy oil but also natural gas for their fuel. The new engine will be added to the lineup of the Mitsubishi UEC Engine Series, the company's 2-stroke, low-speed marine diesel engine brand. Scheduled to be launched onto the market in 2015, MHI aims to reduce the economic and environmental burden on ship operators.
Major China Shipyard to Reduce Capacity, Relocate

China’s Yangzijiang Shipbuilding is shifting its operations in Jiangyin to a new site in Jingjiang of Jiangsu Province Jiangyin municipal government will pay RMB720m (USD$113.39-million) to Yangzijiang Shipbuilding as compensation for the relocation according to an agreement signed by the two sides earlier. Yangzijiang said it would reduce some capacity in the new site and stop production at its current yard by September 30 and finish the relocation by March 31, 2013.
Kleven Maritime to Build Two PSV's for Atlantic Offshore

The vessels are to be built at Kleven Maritime’s shipyard Myklebust Verft. The contract also includes an option for a further vessel of the same type. Atlantic Offshore, based in Sotra, Norway, has signed a long-term contract with Statoil for the two PSVs now ordered, and the vessels will enter this chart immediately after delivery in Q1 and Q3 2014. The vessels are of VS 485 MKIII L, a vessel type Kleven Maritime has built several of previously.
