TradeWinds Adds Tug to Fleet
TradeWinds Towing announced the addition of the former Seabulk tug "Challenger" to its fleet. This 3,800 bhp tug with nozzles is presently on an endurance tow to southern Chile. The Challenger and 300-ft x 100-ft heavy deck barge, Marmac 300, (in ballast) will come free in early February in southern Chile. This equipment is available to pick up cargo from the west coast of South, Central or North America. Tug Challenger will then come free in the U.S. Gulf in the first half of March.

Wärtsilä Scrubber for Containerships Ltd
Wärtsilä has signed a turnkey contract with Containerships Ltd Oy. The agreement covers the retrofitting of a Wärtsilä fresh water scrubber for the vessel Containerships VII, which is equipped with a Wärtsilä W7L64 main engine. This is Wärtsilä's first commercial marine scrubber project for a main engine. The scrubber will be delivered to the customer in August 2011. The conversion will enable the vessel to meet future sulphur oxides (SOx) emission requirements in Sulphur Emission Control Areas.
Seventh AIDA Ship to Sail with Siemens Technology
Siemens Industry Solutions Division has received an order from the Meyer Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, to equip another club ship for the AIDA Cruises shipping company with diesel-electric propulsion systems, and power generation and distribution systems. The scope of supply also includes the automation equipment which will control and monitor all the on-board functions. The value of this order lies in the lower double-digit million euro range.
