Emsys Selected for 3 Rig Contract
W R Systems, Ltd (WRSystems) have been awarded a contract to supply its laser-based Emsys Emissions Monitoring System (EMS) to a major offshore drilling contractor for three drilling ships/rigs located in the Gulf of Mexico. The EMS will be incorporated into the vessel’s proprietary data management technology, to provide compliance with each vessel’s EPA Air Permit requirements. WRSystems has been working with the drilling contractor for over a year in preparation for these projects.
H2O Names Dixon Project Manager
H2O, Inc., a leading water system equipment provider, has named David N. Dixon Project Manager, announced H2O President Jess Fike. Based in Lafayette, La., Dixon’s responsibilities include project management and scheduling for complex engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects; as well as overseeing day-to-day activities. He will also be tasked with guiding new product development efforts.
Wärtsilä to Acquire Hamworthy plc
Wärtsilä Corporation reached agreement with the Board of Hamworthy plc, a UK listed engineering company focussed on the marine and oil and gas sectors, in regards to a recommended cash offer for the acquisition of Hamworthy. Under the terms of the acquisition Hamworthy shareholders will receive 825 pence in cash for each Hamworthy share valuing Hamworthy's entire issued and to be issued share capital at approximately GBP 383 million.

New Service to Houston's Care Terminal
CaytransBBC has introduced regular sailings of its breakbulk vessels from the Port of Houston Authority's Care Terminal in Houston to Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago twice a month. The service will load oil and gas supplies out of Care Terminal and discharge in Point Lisas in Trinidad. Trinidad and Tobago is the largest oil producer in the Caribbean, and its natural gas production has increased dramatically in recent years, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Steam Boiler Delivered to U.S. Factory Trawler
PARAT Halvorsen AS has been awarded an order for an 8000 kgs/h Steam Boiler Plant to be installed in the factory trawler, Northern Hawk, which is owned by the United States fishing company, Coastal Villages Pollock, LLC. Northern Hawk is a Stern Trawler, built by the shipyard Ulstein Hatlø in 1990. PARATs delivery is a retrofit of the existing boiler plant, designed to meet the needs of the on-board fishmeal plant and vessel heating system.

First LNG Carrier to Oman Drydock
One of the biggest and most modern ship repair yards in the Middle East, Oman Drydock Company (ODC), has recently received its first LNG carrier, the Muscat LNG, owned by Oman Shipping Corporation SAOC. As part of its middle term service, Muscat LNG underwent the service operation at ODC during 11 days and was delivered within the estimated 12 days. The service operation for Muscat LNG included the mechanical cleaning of the main boilers and the fire sides.
