Hatlapa, the OEM known for deck machinery, steering gear, compressors and flexible fleet support, has added another product range to its spare parts business. HATLAPA FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY LTD has been established as a new subsidiary business within the HATLAPA group. Based in Limassol, Cyprus the company will supply coalescers and components for oily-water separators, lube oil and fuel filtration for various brands.

U.S. Shipyards Fight to Return Icebreakers to Service
The Polar Sea heavy icebreaker that the U.S. Coast Guard plans to mothball is in excellent condition and could be returned to active service in two years, giving the government a decade or more to search for longer-term solutions, a representative of Americaâs shipyards told Congress last week. The United States currently has no active heavy icebreakers and only one medium vessel to protect rapidly intensifying national security and economic interests in the Arctic and Antarctic.

Foss Maritime, founded by the matriarch of the Foss family in 1889, is as much a cultural icon on the U.S. West Coast as McAllister or Moran are on the East Coast. Norwegian immigrant Thea Foss began the business when she bought her first row boat in Tacoma, Wash. and painted it the signature green and white. Lessons Learned Lead to Improvements in Follow-on LCS Ships

Drydocks World signed a Contract with Singapore based AET, a global leader in petroleum shipping, for two Tanker-to-Modular Capture Vessel (MCV) conversion projects.
