Kleven Maritime Enters Deal with Meling Supply AS
Kleven Maritime has entered into contract with Meling Supply AS for the building of one multifunctional platform supply vessel, design VS 485, designed by Wärtsilä Ship Design Norway. The company Meling Supply AS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the shipowner O. H. Meling & Co. AS in Stavanger, Norway. The vessel will be outfitted at Myklebust Verft in Gursken, Norway, delivery date is February 28, 2011.
Swedish Coast Guard Selects Volvo Penta
The Swedish Coast Guard is to install Volvo Penta’s Inboard Performance System (IPS) in a new type of vessel for sea rescue and border control. Using the IPS system, the Coast Guard is targeting to reduce the fuel consumption of the new vessels by about 30%. The drives were chose for the five new KBV 312 vessels that will be used for surveillance, border control, fishing control, sea rescue and safety at sea activities. The order to Volvo Penta consists of a total of 15 complete IPS systems.
