Galtex Pilots Third Boat From Gladding-Hearn
Galveston-Texas City pilots have taken delivery of its third pilot boat, a new sister-ship to the 30 knot, 70-ft launch, built by Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation, less than four years ago. Designed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates, the all-aluminum vessel measures 70 ft over-all, with a 21-ft beam and a shallow three ft nine inch draft. Two Ships Withdrawn from ETA Charters
The owner of the 53,609 dwt Supramax bulk carrier Paguera and the disponent owner of the 51,215 dwt Papillon, have withdrawn their ships from long-term time charters with Emirates Trading Agency LLC (ETA), a company registered in Dubai. With effect from this month (August), these ships are no longer available to ETA. The 2003-built Paguera and the 2002-built Papillon are both managed by Harpa Bulk Shipping & Management GmbH & Co. KG in Bremen.

Twelve Good Boats, Kirby Marine
Already the operator of the largest fleet of inland tank barges on U.S. inland waters, Kirby Marine Transportation, has recently added twelve more push boats to its fleet. The twelfth in a series of sister vessels was delivered from Raymond and Associates of Bayou LaBatre, Ala. in late July 2010. All twelve of the 1700 hp boats are 76 by 35-ft in length. Each boat is powered by a pair of Tier 2 compliant Cummins K38-M diesels rated for 850 hp each at 1800 rpm.

Derecktor Florida Delivers Gulf Sentry Refit
The Gulf Sentry is one of FWC’s Endurance Class Off-shore Patrol vessels and the largest in the fleet at 85 ft. The vessel was originally named JJ Brown and was manufactured in 1968 for the United States Air Force (USAF) and used as a missile retriever until 1994. The vessel was then used by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and was eventually loaned to FWC, who operated the vessel for the next 14 years for federal fisheries enforcement, search and rescue.
