Pirated Merchant Vessel Panega Released
MV Panega was hijacked on 11 May 2010, approximately 100 nautical miles east of Aden (Yemen) in the Gulf of Aden. On 9 September the vessel was released from Garacad from under pirate control. Merchant Vessel (MV) Panega is a Bulgarian flagged Chemical product tanker, with a dead weight of 5,848 tons and a Bulgarian crew of 15, all of whom are reported in good health.

Serco Takes Delivery of 27th Damen Vessel
Serco took delivery of its 27th Damen vessel in the Port of Amsterdam as a three-year contract for 29 vessels nears completion. In 2007, Serco placed the multi-vessel order with the Damen Shipyards Gorinchem to enable the international services to support the British Royal Navy at its bases in Portsmouth, Devonport and the Clyde. The order included pilot boats, supply boats, tugboats, high-speed craft and barges. All of the vessels are specifically built for the naval contract.

MV Olib G Pirated in Gulf of Aden
Early on the morning of 8 September, the Merchant Vessel (MV) Olib G, flagged Malta, was pirated in the East part of the Gulf of Aden. After a report from a merchant vessel that a skiff was approaching MV Olib G, and after several unsuccessful attempts to make contact with the vessel, the USS Princeton warship of Task Force 151 launched its helicopter. The helicopter was able to identify two pirates on board MV Olib G.

SeaArk Delivers Vessel to National Park Service
SeaArk Marine, Inc. has delivered a 42-ft Dauntless Class Vessel to Cumberland Island National Seashore in St. Mary’s, Georgia. The vessel, Loggerhead, is tasked with transporting park rangers, personnel, and light equipment from St. Mary’s to Cumberland Island and jurisdictional waters within the Park Service. The SeaArk 42-ft Dauntless is constructed of all-welded marine grade aluminum. The state of the art design incorporates a two-man pilothouse and a 20-passenger aft crew cabin.
