Pirated MV Golden Blessing Released

On 6 November 2010, the Singapore-flagged MV Golden Blessing was confirmed released from under pirate control. The MV Golden Blessing, a Singapore-owned chemical tanker, deadweight 14,445 tonnes, was pirated on 28 June 2010 approximately 90 nautical miles (170 kilometres) off the Somali coast. The MV Golden Blessing has a crew of 19 Chinese.
RAmpage 5000 Class OSV Smit Siyanda Delivered

In October 2010, the Offshore Support tug Smit Siyanda was delivered to her owners, SMIT Shipping Singapore Pte. Ltd. of Singapore. The vessel will be operated by SMIT Amandla Marine (Pty) Ltd. of South Africa. The Smit Siyanda was built by the Keppel Nantong Shipyard Co. Ltd. of China to a design by Robert Allan Ltd., Naval Architects of Vancouver, BC, based on the now well-proven platform of their RAmpage 5000 series offshore tug designs.

SeaArk Marine, Inc. has delivered a 26-ft Utility Series (Little Giant) all-welded aluminum fire/rescue boat to the Wilder, KY Fire Department. The boat features a heavy duty “cathedral” multi-vee hull that produces a fast, smooth, dry ride and provides a stable fire fighting platform. These characteristics were high priority items required by the Wilder Fire Department in order to meet required fast response times and capability for all-weather fire fighting and maneuvering requirements.
