Noble Denton, global offshore engineering and marine services company, announced Graeme Reid as regional managing director UK and Kazakhstan. Reid, who was previously the company’s northern operations director, will report directly to group managing director, John Wishart. Jumbo’s Fairplayer Loads Vacuum Tower
May 13, Jumbo’s mv Fairplayer loaded several heavy lifts in the port of Antwerp, Belgium. Among the cargo were two 625mT coke drums, each 42m long and with a diameter of 10m. The prize lift was a 1200mT vacuum tower. This giant (50m long, 17m diameter) was safely lifted off its supports (including three self propelled modular trailers), all of which were fastened onto a barge. Barge, trailers and tower were positioned in-between the quayside and the Fairplayer.

Bay-Houston Towing’s Third Conrad Z-Tech Tug
Bay-Houston Towing Co. has taken delivery of their third Z-Tech 7500 tug. The Z-Tech 7500 design is the largest of the Robert Allan line of Z-Tech tugboats. The Hunter M was delivered to Bay-Houston in April of this year by her builder, Conrad’s Orange Shipbuilding yard after dock and sea trials in Orange, Texas. The Hunter M is the final boat in the series of Z-Tech 7500’s to be completed by Orange Ship Building.

Cat Marine Engines Re-Power US Army Dredge
The US Army Corps of Engineers operates two hopper dredges on the west coast of the U.S. to keep shipping channels open. The largest and most modern of them is the Essayons, built by Bath Iron works in Bath, Maine in 1982. Its aging power plant has been replaced by eight state-of-the-art Cat marine engines totaling more than 15,000 kW. The 350 ft long Essayons is based in Portland, Oregon. Its annual schedule includes work in harbours between Alaska and California, as well as Hawaii.
