Bisso Marine, provider of energy and maritime support services, announced the addition of V. Seva to its management team. Based in Houston, Seva joins the company as project manager and salvage master. Before joining the company, Seva served as salvage master for Svitzer Salvage B.V., executing salvage operations worldwide from his base in the Netherlands. Prior, he was salvage master for Smit Singapore Pte Ltd.

SOREC’s New Crane Disposes of Rigs, Platforms
Cleaning the Gulf of obsolete platforms is the goal of the Southern Recycling’s (SOREC) Morgan City, Louisiana facility. The yard’s new 420-ton land-based crane has increased the Gulf region’s capacity to manage disposal of obsolete rigs and platforms in an environmentally safe and cost-effective manner. The crane, engineered and manufactured by American Crane allows the yard to lift many platforms, up to 120 ft tall, directly from the material barge to the facility’s yard without pre-cuts.

LCS 2 Independence Completes Builder's Trials
LCS2 Independence, the high-speed trimaran combatant ship being constructed by shipbuilder Austal USA in Mobile, Alabama, as part of the General Dynamics Littoral Combat Ship Team, successfully completed a series of tests known as builder's trials on October 18 in the Gulf of Mexico. Transocean Ltd. (NYSE:RIG) announced that the newbuild ultra-deepwater drillship Petrobras 10000 has commenced operations in Angola for a subsidiary of Petrobras under a 10-year drilling contract.
Harvey Bisso Launches Subsea Venture
Harvey Bisso Subsea has launched operations to provide subsea services to the energy and maritime industries. The centerpiece of the venture is a new, fully-classed 12-man Saturation Diving System with a working depth of 1,000 feet. The portable SAT system will be deployed from the Harvey Discovery, a 265 x 58-ft, DP2 certified multi-purpose support vessel outfitted with a 65-ton crane and moon pool. The vessel provides accommodations for up to 53.
