Utility Support Vessel Launched
Launched at the Guangzhou Panyu Lingshan Shipyard, the 36-meter Swissco Super underwent yard trials on June 3 and full sea trails and delivery were completed June 10. With a 9.8-meter beam and 4.3-meter molded depth the BV-classed boat has tankage for 250 cubic meters of fuel and 100 cubic meters of water. The Singapore registered vessel, the third in a ten-boat series, meets the IMO/SOLAS standards for life saving and fire fighting.
Keppel FELS to Build ENSCO Rig
Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has won the contract to build the seventh ENSCO 8500 Series deepwater semisubmersible (semi) worth $560m. This sum includes equipment specified by the owner. To be delivered in the second half of 2012, the ENSCO 8506 will be the seventh consecutive semi that Keppel FELS is constructing for ENSCO International Incorporated (ENSCO). The contract follows shortly after the award of the sixth semi, ENSCO 8505, that was announced on 1 June 2008.
