Wilhelmsen Delivers 3D Printed Parts to Berge Bulk

Norway-based global maritime industry group Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding ASA  announced that Berge Mafadi, a Berge Bulk vessel has received the world’s first commercial delivery of 3d printed scupper plugs, as part of Wilhelmsen’s Early Adopter Program.According to a press release, the program, where customers have exclusive access to on-demand additive manufacturing was launched by Wilhelmsen’s Marine Products division in December 2019. Wilhelmsen Launches 3D Printed Spares EAP

Wilhelmsen has launched an early adopter program for 3D printed marine spare parts. A strategic move by the six early adopters, Carnival Maritime, Thome Ship Management, OSM Maritime Group, Berge Bulk, Executive Ship Management and Wilhelmsen Ship Management have all signed up with Wilhelmsen’s Marine Products division to begin utilizing on-demand additive manufacturing.Wilhelmsen, in cooperation with Ivaldi Group, will provide spare parts on demand to the selected six customers’ vessels around the globe.

Saudi Tankers Among Those Hit off UAE Coast

Saudi Arabia said on Monday that two of its oil tankers were among those attacked off the coast of the United Arab Emirates and said it was an attempt to undermine the security of crude supplies amid tensions between the United States and Iran.The UAE said on Sunday that four commercial vessels were sabotaged near Fujairah emirate, one of the world's largest bunkering hubs lying just outside the Strait of Hormuz, but did not describe the nature of the attack or say who was behind it.The UAE had not given the nationalities or other details about the ownership of the four vessels. Riyadh has identified two of them as Saudi and a Norwegian company has said it owned another.

Shipping Firms Pay $1.9 Mln for Pollution Cover-up

Two shipping companies based in Egypt and Singapore will pay $1.9 million in penalties after pleading guilty in federal court to violating the Act to Prevent Pollution from Ships (APPS) and obstruction of justice for covering up the illegal dumping of oil-contaminated bilge water and garbage into the sea. Defendants Egyptian Tanker Company and Thome Ship Management are the owner and operator of the offending vessel, the 57,920 gross ton, 809-foot long, oceangoing, oil tank ship called the M/T ETC Mena. The plea agreement was announced by Acting Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey H. Wood for the Department of Justice Environment and Natural Resources Division and Acting U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston for the Eastern District of Texas.

Radio Holland, Thome Ship Management Ink SRA Deal for 200 vessels

Thome Ship Management Pte Ltd and Radio Holland Singapore have concluded a Service Rate Agreement (SRA) covering the NavCom service and maintenance needs of its entire fleet of more than 200 vessels. Headquartered in Singapore, Thome Ship Management has worked together with Radio Holland for many years. The two companies have now taken a next step to a new format of cooperation with the SRA, which includes everything from annual radio surveys to servicing bridge equipment, to the delivery of spare parts and on-the-spot troubleshooting. Thome Ship Management Selects KVH Media

KVH Media Group, distributor of licensed films to the maritime market, and part of KVH Industries, Inc., has announced an agreement with Thome Ship Management to provide 41 Thome vessels with the MOVIElink service. Part of the Thome Group, Thome Ship Management will initially roll out the MOVIElink service to product tankers and LPG carriers. The MOVIElink service delivers films, including the latest releases, to vessels around the world, contributing to more productive and loyal crews, and assisting shipping companies in complying with the standards and recommendations of MLC-2006. These recommendations include providing regularly replenished film entertainment to crew members.

Officially signed on June 1, the agreement covers a pool of nine chemical oil tankers of around 45,000-50,000 dwt on a 24/7 basis. The MSA covers the maintenance of marine electronic equipment including navigation, communication, automation and IT equipment. The contract includes everything from annual radio surveys to servicing bridge equipment, to the delivery of spare parts and on-the-spot troubleshooting.

New Tanker Delivered to Ardmore Shipping

Ardmore Shipping Corporation announced that its latest newbuild tanker vessel, the Ardmore Chinook, was delivered by Japanese shipbuilder Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co. Ltd from its Nagasaki shipyard on July 17, 2015. The Ardmore Chinook is a 25,000 DWT IMO 2 product and chemical tanker. ShipServ opens Singapore office

ShipServ, the leading marine and offshore marketplace with an expected annual trade of $3bn in 2015, has cemented its position in Asia with the opening of a new office in Singapore. The office will be managed by ShipServ’s VP of Sales Sharon Gill and will be open for business from July 1st. “We are very excited to get much closer to one of the biggest and most vibrant shipping markets in the world and will look to increase our already substantial customer base in the region,” said Kim Skaarup, Chief Operating Officer of ShipServ. Danish Maritime Takes Center Stage

Thome Ship Management has added to its senior management tier by appointing Steen Nygaard Madsen as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Thome Ship Management Tanker Fleet. Thome to Manage Its First DIS Vessel
