The Transportation Marketing & Communications Association
(TMCA) announced the appointment of its new president, Ray Venturino,
Assistant Vice President of P&O Nedlloyd-North America, a world leader
in liner shipping and logistics. Venturino, who was elected by the
association's membership as vice president in May of 2002, began in his
new leadership role July 1 and will remain president until July 1, 2004.
"Mr. Venturino has the leadership to help TMCA achieve its goal of
providing professional development, education, and networking
opportunities for marketing and communication professionals in our
industry," said Brian Everett, TMCA's executive director. "He is a
visionary who has served on the TMCA board of directors for the past
four years, and we're pleased to have him now at the helm."
"My goal as president is to continue to grow membership while
increasing value to TMCA members," said Venturino. "TMCA plays a
valuable role for the marketing, sales and communications professions in
the transportation industry, and this association will be able to
provide more value in this critical role as it gains and retains more
members." Currently, TMCA has more than 200 members in various market
segments, ranging from motor carrier, railroads, air carriers and
steamship lines to technology companies, third-party logistics
providers, port authorities, and passenger transit organizations. TMCA
is the only association to provide services, professional development
and networking value exclusively to marketing, sales and communications
professionals in all modes and market segments of North American
transportation."
