The Italian container shipping line Lloyd Triestino has upgraded its
internet website (www.lloydtriestino.it or www.lloydtriestino.com) with a
new homepage featuring advanced e-commerce facilities so as to meet
customers' needs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Customers are provided with new added-value products and electronic
transactions through extremely user friendly links: new internet bills of
lading (BL) processing, improved service schedules, increased cargo tracking
functions, tariffs, owned vessels and equipment specifications, press
release information and service maps.
The new BL service is available to all registered customers, who are
assigned a personal Logon ID. It offers worldwide easy, fast and safe
functions to help save time and costs. Registration is achieved easily
directly from the new homepage. Customers can view their BLs on-line, print
original or non-negotiable BLs in their offices and receive notification
when a BL is ready for viewing or printing. Upon request, BL copies can also
be received via e-mail.
Registered members can also check on the location of their cargo directly
from the same BL processing screen.
All other services and tools are available without registering or logging
on. The improved trade lane schedules feature real-time long term services,
schedules by vessel and point to point queries that allow the user to view
all of the upcoming sailing options available between selected ports.
Sailing schedules can also be received via e-mail. By simply providing his
or her own e-mail address, the user can consult or print the schedule from
the comfort of his or her desk.
Cargo tracking options, which already provide the user with basic
information for each shipment and relevant container move by simply
keying-in the BL or container number, have now been enriched with the
documentation status of cargo on US-bound ships and relevant compliance with
the US Customs 24-hour advance cargo manifest requirements.
