SeaArk Delivers Transporter

SeaArk Marine, Inc. has delivered a 50-ft. Transporter to Gulf Islands National Seashore in Ocean Springs, MS. The vessel, Captain George, and her crew are tasked with servicing the barrier islands of Mississippi and Florida within the Gulf Islands National Seashore region. The vessel is used daily to transport equipment to the islands of Horn, Ship, Cat, Peti Bois in Mississippi and Fort Pickens in Florida.

The SeaArk Transporter Class vessel is constructed of all-welded marine grade aluminum. The vessel features a 5° hull design for stability, load bearing capacity of 22,000 lbs. and shallow water capabilities. Hull options on this vessel include twin tunnels to further minimize the draft, an electric bow loading ramp for loading/offloading of vehicles, equipment and materials, and heavy-duty bow push knees. The vessel is powered by twin John Deere 6081A diesel engines at 375 hp each. This boat can attain a top speed of 23.5 knots and operates at a service speed of approximately 22 knots. The extended pilot house includes a center helm with additional seating on bench seat/storage boxes for up to seven persons. Generous cabin accommodations include an enclosed head and hot water-shower set. All interior spaces on the vessel are climate controlled. The electronics suite includes a Furuno 24 NM radar/NavNet with GPS and plotter with color sounder. For onboard electrical service, a 10.0kW Northern Lights generator and 50 amp shore power are provided, supplying 110 and 220 volt auxiliary power to the boat. Deck equipment includes a 500 lb. lifting davit that can be utilized, or positioned, on the port or starboard side.
