In December 2003, the Transas R&D center in St.Petersburg, Russia, changed its location. The new office occupies a five-story modern building situated in the Vasilievskiy Island, one of the most beautiful areas of the St. Petersburg city. The new Transas office gathers together under one roof all the production and administrative divisions of the company, including products and project development, technical support, sales, financial, PR and marketing services for all Transas Group activities, which includes shipping, aviation and land-based tracking and communications sectors. Nickolay Lebedev, President of the Transas Group, said; “Transas is a company, which never stops developing. The relocation of the St.Petersburg office contributes to the further integration of all the technical processes in the company and marks a new milestone in Transas' life. We’ve not only changed our residence, we’ve passed to a new stage of our business, which we are expecting to be even more efficient.” Today, the Transas St.Petersburg team consists of about 500 employees. The new residence of the Transas technological site in St. Petersburg is part of the global consolidation of the international businesses within the Transas group, which commenced with the Transas HQ move from Portsmouth, UK, to Cork, Ireland.
