Teknotherm Takes Over Unitor HVAC Business

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

October 7, 2005

Unitor Ships Equipment (now part of Wilhelmsen Maritime Services) has reached agreement with Teknotherm AS to transfer its activities in the marine heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) market to Teknotherm AS. The transfer includes HVAC products, a group of engineers in Poland as well as Unitor’s order backlog of HVAC systems. Teknotherm will represent a continuation of Unitor’s HVAC activities with respect to technical solutions, market contacts as well as after-sales and service capabilities. Teknotherm AS was founded in 1926 and has grown to be a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of marine refrigeration systems. Their growth within the HVAC segment has been significant, and taking over Unitor’s HVAC activities represents a further strengthening of this development. This gives Teknotherm an improved market position and nearness to end-users, which are central elements in their business philosophy. For Unitor Ships Equipment, the transfer means that more focus and resources can be directed at its core business areas.
