Disney Cruise Line has revealed details of the new "Tangled" musical debuting on the Disney Magic.
Tangled: The Musical is officially in as the latest Disney animated film to be adapted for a stage show aboard Disney Cruise Lines.
Prolific composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater are writing new songs for the latest Disney screen-to-stage adaptation, Tangled, which is set to premiere aboard the Disney Magic cruise ship's voyage to the Bahamas on Nov. 11.
"Tangled: The Musical" based on the 2011 Rapunzel film will featuring three new songs from the composer-lyricist team on top of their popular songs from the movie, "When Will My Life Begin," "Mother Knows Best," "I Have a Dream" and "I See the Light," which won a Grammy Award.
Director Gordon Greenberg will oversee the Tangled production team that includes choreographer Connor Gallagher, puppet designer Michael Curry, scenic designer Bradley Kaye and costume designer Paloma Young.
The "Tangled" announcement follows news that a three-song arc from "Frozen" was being added to the ship's "Disney Dreams" production beginning this May. In that performance, Anna, Elsa and Olaf will star singing "For the First Time in Forever," "In Summer" and "Let it Go."
