Australia to Provide Increased Maritime Surveillance

The Australian Minister for Justice and Customs stated that a multi-year contract has been signed to provide aircraft for increased surveillance of Australia’s maritime areas. With more aircraft and improved sensors, offshore areas, particularly across the northern coastline, will be patrolled more effectively to detect potential terrorism, smuggling, and environmental violations.
