SunWize was selected for a five year supply contract with the US Coast Guard (USCG) to provide specialty solar modules to power navigational aids, buoys and lighthouses. The contract was awarded by the USCG Electrical Systems Contracting Branch for use by the Navigational Aids Division in Baltimore, MD.

Based on estimates for production over five years, the total value of the contract is potentially five million dollars for the supply of nearly 15,000 solar modules. SunWize manufactures the modules in their Kingston, New York corporate headquarter facility. Robert Spotts, VP SunWize Specialty Solar Products stated, “The Coast Guard awarded SunWize this contract based on commercial and technical ability to manufacture a marine grade solar module capable of withstanding the harsh salt water marine environment for protection of ports, harbors, and lighthouses throughout US waterways.”
