Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

February 28, 2001

SpecTec Group has signed an agreement with diesel engine company Wärtsilä whereby Wärtsilä will become a value-added distributor of SpecTec's AMOS software product range. The agreement marks the beginning of a partnership with the two companies co-operating to enable the delivery of fully integrated CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems), which includes e-business and electronic documentation. Thomas Falck, SpecTec's CEO and Managing Director, said: "We are proud as we see this agreement as a strong recognition of the AMOS product range and SpecTec as a company." He added: "This is the first step for the two companies to work more closely together, and this cooperation should strengthen SpecTec's overall position in the market for new-buildings, as well as in the key Power & Utilities sector." Peter Lancaster, Wärtsilä's Documentation and Software Systems Product Manager, said: "The agreement will benefit the Wärtsilä customers, as we will be able to offer more flexible solutions in the area of maintenance management to complete the Ship Power Provider and Power Systems via the integration of the AMOS software." In the agreement just signed, SpecTec grants Wärtsilä the right to license, sub-license and market AMOS Express (Maintenance and Spare Part System), AMOS M&P (Maintenance, Purchase and Spare Part System) and AMOS Mail (Communications System) to its clients globally. The agreement will considerably extend SpecTec Group's market, and will add value to Wärtsilä's product offering for operation of land and sea based diesel engines and generators. SpecTec will provide training for Wärtsilä's key technical sales staff, so that they can gain knowledge and competence of the AMOS product range. In addition, SpecTec will furnish Wärtsilä with marketing and promotional material covering the AMOS software systems and will also provide technical assistance in distribution and support services. Wärtsilä will promote SpecTec's software to its clients as a value-added option in its comprehensive power generation systems. A complete client Support Agreement package is available to all end-users.
