Spaghetti Link Boom from Edge Group

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

August 31, 1999

This new absorbent boom is able to soak 25 times its weight in petroleum. It's non-toxic to marine life, and isn't affected by temperature change; it neither rots nor mildews. Standard lengths of 9.8 and 13.1 ft. are available. Constructed using a single net filled with spaghetti strands, the boom has a high flame resistance, will only absorb non-aqueous liquids, and is able to absorb oil right through to the core. Suitable for heavy bunker use, the link-type boom has metal and plastic hooks available, making the product completely spark-resistant, if required.
