McMurdo to Showcase Products in Newport

The McMurdo range of Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs), Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs) and Automatic Identification System (AIS) MOB devices will be on display in booth D92 at the 2014 Newport International Boat Show, September 11-14 at the Newport Yachting Center in Newport, Rhode Island.

McMurdo EPIRBs

The compact McMurdo Smartfind Plus G5 GPS EPIRB features a high performance, multi-channel GPS which brings the location accuracy down to typically less than 62 meters, greatly increasing the chances of rescue in an emergency situation. The battery offers a minimum of 48 hours of operation and has a six-year life. The G5 GPS EPIRB is supplied with a manual release bracket. A SOLAS approved automatic housing is also available.

McMurdo PLBs
The compact, lightweight McMurdo FAST FIND 220 Personal Locator Beacon is designed to be carried with you wherever you go. Built-in GPS pinpoints your exact location and the battery guarantees a minimum of 24 hours operation. Designed to be carried, the McMurdo FAST FIND MAX G PLB is a powerful personal safety device. Built-in GPS sends your exact location to the rescue services. Offers a minimum of 48 hours continuous operation.

McMurdo AIS Search and Rescue Transponders(SART) or Beacons

  • Smartfind S5 – a compact, lightweight, waterproof (to 10 meters) AIS SART with high-visibility buoyant carry-off bag ideal for use on life rafts or survival crafts.
  • Smartfind S10 – a personal, waterproof (to 60 meters) AIS Man Overboard (MOB) device with built-in flashing light and used by individuals or as an additional device to complement a yacht’s on-board flare pack.
  • Smartfind S20 – a compact AIS MOB device with integrated light perfect for use in a lifejacket.
