Chiarello to Keynote 2013 SHIPPINGInsight
Anthony Chiarello, president and CEO of TOTE, Inc., will be the keynote speaker at the SHIPPINGInsight 2013 Fleet Optimization Conference, Oct. 22-24 in Stamford, Conn.
Prior to TOTE, Inc., the largest of five operating groups owned by Seattle-based Saltchuk Resources, Inc., which includes five companies organized in maritime, logistics and ship management lines of business, Chiarello, was the COO and executive vice president at NYK Logistics (Americas), Inc. Prior to NYK, Chiarello was with the AP Moller/Maersk organization for 16 years.
Chiarello serves on the Board of Visitors for the Northeastern University School of Business and the Board of Directors for the Villanova School of Business, Center for Global Leadership. Other industry involvement includes leadership participation with the Retail Industry Leaders Association; board member of the Transportation Institute; board member of CRT (Coalition for Responsible Transportation); past facilitator for the annual AAPA/MARAD/NAWE Terminal Management Training Program; member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals; member of the Advisory Board of The United States Maritime Resource Center; and past board member for the Global Maritime and Transportation School (GMATS) at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School and the Insead Business Institute of Fontainebleau, France.
“LNG will be a major theme of this year’s SHIPPINGInsight Conference,” said conference co-director Jim Rhodes. “Mr. Chiarello will share his insights on the challenges and solutions for LNG propulsion in newbuilds and retrofits. Other conference speakers will address the technical and infrastructure issues regarding LNG as a marine fuel.”
