New Shiplift and Pier at Ventura Harbor Boatyard

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

July 29, 1999

The Ventura Harbor Boatyard will be getting a new 150-ton Travelift and a new shiplift pier, thanks to a $641,000 federal grant. Matching funds will be provided by the Ventura Port District and Ventura Harbor Boatyard, Inc. The grant was obtained through collaborative efforts by the Port District, the boatyard and the city of Ventura, Calif. The existing 150-ton shiplift at the boatyard is the only one of that capacity available between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Its operation is essential to service the fishing industry, offshore servicing companies, tour boats, National Park Service boats and resident and cruising vessels.
