Northrop Grumman Names Shipbuilding Leadership Team

Northrop Grumman Corporation has appointed three vice presidents to key positions in its newly formed Shipbuilding sector, effective immediately. John J. Mazach has been appointed sector vice president of business development, Eric Womble has been named sector vice president of advanced capabilities group, and Daniel L. Arczynski will serve as sector vice president of strategic planning and development. Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, a newly-formed sector of Northrop Grumman Corporation, is made up of the former Northrop Grumman Ship Systems and shipbuilding entities. Mazach leads all Shipbuilding marketing, customer and government relations initiatives. Prior to joining the company's sector in 2002, he served as director of business development of the Navy and Marine Corps programs at Northrop Grumman's Integrated Systems sector. He served 32 years in the United States Navy as a naval aviator, flying fighter and attack aircraft from numerous aircraft carriers during his career. Prior to retiring with the rank of vice admiral as commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, he was director for Strategy and Policy for the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Mazach earned a bachelor's degree from . Womble leads the sector's advanced capabilities group and will be responsible for technology development, research and development, advanced programs, advanced concepts and market/competitive analysis. Womble's most recent position was sector vice president of advanced capabilities group for the company's former Ship Systems sector. He joined Northrop Grumman in 2002 with more than 23 years of experience serving in the executive and legislative branches of the government. He was the military legislative assistant for former Sen. Trent Lott and also served as his national security advisor. A U.S. Naval Academy graduate, he was designated a naval flight officer in 1980. He also earned a master's degree in business administration from Marymount College of Virginia. As sector vice president of strategic planning and development, Arczynski oversees the Shipbuilding sector's strategic planning organization and focus on business growth. Arczynski's most recent position was sector vice president of strategic planning and development for the company's former sector. He began his career at in 1995 as director of corporate strategy. Prior to joining , he was vice president of strategy and vice president of mergers and acquisitions for Shawmut National Corporation in . Arczynski earned a bachelor's degree from the at West Point and earned a master's degree in business administration from where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.
