Kvaerner Head Still Plans To Leave Shipbuilding

The head of Anglo-Norwegian engineering group Kvaerner said last week he is still optimistic of exiting shipbuilding as planned by the end of 1999, even though many yards are still unsold. Kvaerner is pulling out of shipbuilding as part of a sweeping restructuring, including the elimination of 25,000 jobs.
