SF Marina USA Dock for U.S. Navy Stiletto
When the United States Navy required a heavy-duty dock to moor its state-of-the-art M80 Stiletto, it worked with SF Marina USA. The resulting 82-ft floating SF 1230 Concrete Dock can perform in the harshest marine conditions.
Designed for conditions at the Little Creek Amphibious Base in Norfolk, Va., as well as its future location at NAS Norfolk, the SF 1230 Concrete Dock is engineered to handle extreme wind, tides and waves. Constructed from reinforced concrete and Styrofoam, it offers unmatched strength, stability and buoyancy. With a service life of 30-50 years, the advanced dock needs little maintenance.
Manufactured by the M Ship Company for the Pentagon's Office of Force Transformation, the 88-ft Stiletto employs a unique, M-shaped hull and carbon-fiber construction. Built for operation in littoral waters, it features a fully-networked, combat electronics suite.
Displacing 51 tons, the single-cast SF 1230 employs 12, 18-inch HDG cleats rated for minimum pull out strength of 10,000 lbs in any horizontal direction up to 45°. It has 6-inch, non-marking D-Fenders along the perimeter and extra vertical fenders on two of the corners, as well as 18.5-inch by 50-inch, Polyform, F-10 sea cushions secured on the berthing side.
