Seatronics Relocates to Larger Facility

Seatronics Pte Ltd, an Acteon company, has moved its Singapore operations to a facility with triple the capacity of the previous within the recently upgraded Toll Offshore Supply Base. The new location offers nearly 1,000 square meters of specialist engineering and electronic preparation workshops and warehousing space.

The new facility includes a state-of-the-art cable molding operation, extensive hydraulic test facilities, CTD and Sound Velocity calibration equipment as well as a training room which can accommodate up to 20 clients on a variety of course topics. It extends Seatronics’ capabilities by placing cable molding and hydraulic testing under one roof; this makes it possible to offer a wider range of products and services to clientele in the region.

For customers, the move places Seatronics directly next to the quayside operations on Toll’s Offshore Supply Base. The convenience of the new location means that Seatronics is more easily accessible during critical operations when incidents are more likely to occur.

Singapore’s facility is the only location outside of the United States that is fully licensed to manufacture Burton cable assemblies. New molding machines and a process of injecting and pressurizing the connectors using 15T of pressure ensure the highest quality of product. The Cooper (Burton) certified facility allows Seatronics to manufacture the full range of 55 and 66 Series connectors on demand. A significant investment in stock (approximately $3 million) provides the basis to ensure that customers’ demands will be met in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

Seatronics Pte Ltd. Vice President – Southeast Asia Derek Donaldson said, “The new base will handle sales, engineering, calibration, cable molding and bespoke subsea projects.”

The investment does not stop at cable molding operations. In addition to the facility relocation, a comprehensive range of remote operated vehicle (ROV) tooling is now available directly from Singapore.
