MARIC Granted AiP for Ultra Large Ethane Carrier Design

Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV) has awarded Approval in Principle (AiP) to the Marine Design and Research Institute of China (MARIC) for its new 155,000mÂł Ultra Large Ethane Carrier (ULEC) design.The vessel, measuring approximately 274 meters in length and 42 meters in breadth, is designed as a single-propeller liquefied ethane carrier powered by a MAN ME-GIE ethane dual-fuel main engine, supporting worldwide ethane transportation.

GTT Wins Order for LNG Carrier Tank Design

GTT received an order from an Asian shipyard for the tank design of two new Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGCs) on behalf of an Asian ship-owner. GTT will design the tanks of these two vessels, which will each offer a total capacity of 174,000 cu. m. and will be fitted with a membrane containment system from the NO96 series developed by GTT. Deliveries of the vessels are scheduled for the second and third quarters of 2027.
Twelve Large Container Ships to Have GTT LNG Fuel Tanks

GTT has received an order from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to design the cryogenic fuel tanks for 12 new LNG-fuelled container vessels on behalf of a European shipowner.The Mark III Flex membrane tanks will have a capacity of 12,750 cubic metres and the “1 barg” design, which allows an effective operating pressure of up to 1 barg instead of the customary 0.7 barg.The Mark III membrane system is a containment and insulation system directly supported by the ship’s hull structure.
